Does anyone's house backup to a shopping center?
If so, what are the positives/negatives??
A house I looked at currently backs up to woods and a main road past that. The homeowner mentioned that they tried a few times to put a strip mall back there. It would be a small shopping center if anything.
Would it be half bad?

I wouldn't like it. People hanging out yada yada. They could hang out in the woods behind your house. Then think of the extra traffic it will bring, noise, lights etc.

We didn't have a house backed up to a shopping center but our apt. in our complex backed up to shopping center and we hated it at night. the lights, the teenagers hanging out all ours making noise. It was annoying.

Not quite the same but there is a church behind our house. When we moved in 4 years ago the church was pushed toward the front of the property away from our fence line. This past summer they rebuilt the church very close to our fence line. At first myself and the neighbors weren't happy but so far we haven't had any issues with noise, etc.
The only thing is in the back of the church they have a huge stained glass window with Jesus on it. Our upstairs bathroom is upstairs and we have a window right above our toilet. DH says everytime he pees he sees Jesus
