Does anyone use SKYPE??

My cousin is in Japan b/c her boyfriend is there in the Marines..

Well, she just let me know via myspace that she is GETTING MARRIED!! But it will be out in NY...

ANyways, she asked me to get Skype so we can talk b/c she won;t be back in the states for a month or so...she has been there since before Christmas.


Does anyone use it? How is it? Is it free??

DH has used it to talk to a friend through the computer while competing on Guitar Hero online (yes, he's a geek, but I love him). It is free to download, and works pretty well.

Yes, I use it all the time to talk to my parents in PA so they can see DD

It's free - you just need internet and a webcam/mic

My FIL does it alllll dayy long with international business - cuts down the phone bill tremendously

My cousin in Australia uses it and I can't wait to get our time zones together and use it

Yes, We discovered it last year when we went to Aruba. Since DH wasn't with us we checked in on him everyday from our laptop that we brought with us... Also, it was cheaper to use since it is a penny a minute...

We use it all the time to speak to my brother in Houston and my in laws in Florida.... This is one of the best things they have come up with... They get to see their grandson in action not just though pics..

My DH uses it to call me when he's in Asia. We've been using it for a few years now. The software is free and the service is free if you're calling from computer to computer, but there is a fee if you call from computer to landline or cell phone. The fee is minimal though. I think it costs my DH .20 to call me from China as opposed to a $500 cell phone bill.

I use skype. It is good and cheap (free if you use the computer). But b/c I don't have an internet connection like my family does in America (too expensive here), it can be a little screwy sometimes.

We do with MIL. We have a webcam and it is how she sees DS.

we use it to talk to my folks in florida. we have a mac and they have a pc. had a hard time finding a program that was compatable.

We have it. My IL's have it. My BIL has it. My parents have it. My brother has it.

It has been nice for everyone far away to see DD.

DH is also planning on using it next week when he is away in Germany on business.

It is free and I use it all the time to talk with my cousins in England. Especially when they are visiting my Auntie, that way they can see baby G without having to travel so much.

You can load up minutes to call long distance, but the chat/videochat is free.

I skype with my parents all the time, its great for them to see my son. I carry the camera around the house on my laptop so they can see my house, and sometimes into the garden also. I love skype!

I used it for something work related a few months back.

The version I had was free. And it is a chat client just like AIM.
