Does anyone still have damage from the hurricane that LIPA has not fixed?
Or am I the only one?? I feel like they are giving us the run around, we've called five times already. The hurricane pulled the power line that goes from the pole to the house so that is is no longer taut, but hanging in mid air. I am so worried the longer it hangs there the more likely it is to snap off and then we will have a live high voltage wire in our backyard. Not to mention the place where it is connected is right outside my kids' room. They left a card last week while I was in the shower saying they looked at it and needed to come back. How long should I give them until I call yet again?

I read that if it was the line to the house they were not responsible for fixing it.

Its the line coming off the utility pole so they are responsible for it, that much I know. When they are coming back to fix it, that I do not know. :

Re: Does anyone still have damage from the hurricane that LIPA has not fixed?
we have a hanging wire too....
I called I guess a couple days after the storm, the lady first told me I should call back next week. I then said put the ticket in, I might forget to call and I understand they have to fix noi power before us......... I haven't gotten any card from LIPA about them stopping by to fix it- i guess i have to call again... someone did place caution tape so the garbage men would know their truck wont fit.

The poll attached to my house has detached in some section and the wires are hanging lower (because of my neighbor's tree that fell into our yard and ripping her electric lines. He only "pulled" on mine). LIPA told us they were not responsible. We have to call an electrician. The wires goes from the electric pole to my house diretly. They are still not going to do it.

if you need a recommendation for an electrician let me know. DH's aunt needed an entire service change after Irene, and our electrician was great and reasonably priced
