Does anyone self diagnose themselves on the internet and makes yourself nuts?

I have this TERRIBLE habit of going onto the Internet if I start to have a weird pain in my head or a strange bump on my arms- you name it -and then I make myself nuts thinking there is something seriously wrong with me, when in actuality, I think it's just anxiety from all this research!

Does anyone else do this?

How can we stop!??!

sometimes i wish i could block myself from al lthose medical sites

every second of every minute of every day. I think I need a 12 step program to get off of it.

I have a lot of anxiety and I look online all the time. My doctor at one point made me promise to stop looking stuff up. He actually sat me down and made me promise.

I am the worst. I wish I didn't drive myself crazy..my doctors are great and I have a chronic ailment so with that comes anxiety.

I'm working on an exersize now that is trying to get me to stop. It's helping. I haven't been on the web looking stuff up in a while.

Uh, yes. I've done this a couple of times and almost died from the stress I caused myself. My doctor has since forbid me to diagnose myself via the internet and for my own sanity, I'm obeying.

My doctor says this is the worst thing a patient can do.

I know - I need to stop! I have bad anxiety and I am actually in the process of weaning myself off of xanax - which isn't so bad, but I have a few side effects and I think I am dying half the time...it's awful. My dh thinks I am nutso!

I have done it. I have to tell you it has helped, it's how I knew I had appendicitis and made me get the ER faster.
