Does anyone know what is REALLY going on at the Walt Whitman Mall right now?
The latest is that 9 people are being treated for carbon monoxide poisoning and one has just died.
How the hell could there be such a high concentration of CO in such a large space to kill someone? Something doesn't sound right here!!!
My prayers go out to the victim and everyone involved!

I don't know, really weird though. They evacuated Legal Seafood, Panera and Cheesecake. How there was a concentration high enough to kill people (one person) is beyond me. I heard like 26 people were being treated and one is critical.

I was just there Thursday. I'm sure a lot of us will say that. So unbelievably frightening! Hope your friend is ok. I'm curious to know more details from someone who was there.

My DH said that 2 were in cardiac arrest, and the cops that got them out were being treated as well. He said it was in the basement.

My BIL is the manager of PF Changs and he also said they pulled them from the basement

The mall itself seems to be operating as normal, as I was just chatting with one of my friends who was there and had no idea. It sounds like only Legal Sea Foods, Cheesecake Factory, and Panera were evacuated. How scary.

Some stores have their storage in the basement. I was a mall manager there in the past and my store did.

One dead. Manager in the basement. Possible one other in critical condition. (CPR performed) Over 2 dozen overcome.About a dozen if not more transported to the hospital..

It's easy. The hot water heater was probably on the fritz. My roommate almost died that was. You can't smell it and the employees because they are there for long periods of time are the ones who end up sick.
