Does anyone know (term life ins related)
Let's say you get 30 year term life insurance for 1m and you die the year before the policy is up do you (your spouse) get the whole million or does the amount go down. DH thinks that the amount depletes as you get older and closer to the end of the term ....I thought if you take it out for 1m you get 1m until the policy is up (even if it's 30yrs)

you get $1m. It doesn't go down unless you have bought a policy that has that provision. There are policies like that. Check your contract.

most policies are standard and don't have that provision, but you're right - definitely read before you sign!
