Does anyone know if High chairs at resturaunts are required to have straps?

I have been noticing more and more that when I go out, the high chairs that are brought to me don't have straps (or have only 1, are broken, etc....)
Is there a law or something that would require them to have straps? I would think it was a safety concern

don't know about a law, but i've seen the same thing w/ the broken straps, etc. and they're almost always filthy too.

We got this thing - it's a chicco product - it's awesome!

they arent even required to have high chairs, it is just convience.. i have a cover for high chairs which i ALWAYS use because ds spins around otherwise.. i just have a strap i also bring that can hook him secure to ethe chair

I don't think so b.c they don't actually even have to have them. I will say as someone who worked in restaurants many years ago I wouldn't put my child directly into any of them - they are disgusting - kids mouth them, vomit on them etc and they are often just wiped down with the same towel use to wipe off tables etc. I use a high chair cover they come with straps so you wouldn't have to worry about whether the chair has one or not.

Yes but mostly they are disgusting and gross and I hate using them to begin with. Im talking about the straps. Sometimes the seats too!

I got this.. it was pricy for my taste but omg is it one of my FAVORITE investments so far!

I am not kidding.. this thing is super light weight and folds up totally flat. I carry it in a little draw string freebie bag (like the ones you get at charity events, etc.) It is really strong and I get compliments about it everytime we use it.

Since it folds flat I can put it in the bottom of her stroller under a car seat whatever. Since i use the drawstring baggie, I just take it with me where ever we go.






ETA: its not shown in the photo but it has over the shoulder straps like a car seat. And so far I haven't found a table I can't use it on
