does anyone know how much
weight you lose after giving birth...i know everyone is different depending on the weight of baby but i was just wondering about how much..i always hear you lose like 20 lbs...that would be nice!!right in time for summer

I had an 8 pound baby - and when I got home and weighed myself I only lost 6 lbs.
I nursed for 4 months - so the weight came off pretty quickly - But I really didn't start feeling myself until after 6 months.

I think I read somewhere you usually loose approximately 12 to 14 pounds with the actual birth (baby, placenta, fluid). If you gained 25-35 pounds, that would mean approximately 13 to 21 pounds to loose to get to your pre-pregnancy weight. I think they advise you plan on loosing it over 8-12 months, not right away.

I gained a total of 22 pounds with my pregnancy - and lost it all after 3 weeks.
