Does anyone know about how much small cottages/houses rent for?
I just don't know what to even expect when I start looking...also, do most house rentals allow dogs?

I don't think that most house rentals want pets. I'm sure that some don't mind - but majority won't want pets.

we rent a 2 bedroom house with garage and big yard for 1500 and we have 2 cats

We rent a 2 bedroom house on almost 2 acres of land for $1300 and they allowed a dog.
They are out there, finding it is the hard part.
