Does anyone know?

My SIL just gave birth a couple hours ago to twins via C-section. They are also in the NICU @ LIJ since they were born a few weeks early. I want to *wait* to speak to my IL's to see what they think about us even going there today, but what is the policy about visitors in this kind of situation? And would you even WANT visitors?

Depends on the hospital, but you won't be allowed to bring DS.

I gave birth at LIJ, at 11 pm at night. My parents, mother in law, brother and girlfriend were all allowed into recovery to see me. DS was in NICU. My parents and my MIL were allowed to go to NICU to see the baby through the glass.
The following day, my BIL & SIL came to visit and I insisted my nephews (ages 3 & 5) come up and they were allowed up with no problem.

If she JUST gave birth, I may just wait a few hours though. I was thrilled to see my family, but they only stayed a few minutes then went home right away. I was so out of it from the c-section.

Oh, I would never bring him this young under "normal" circumstances. It will probably just be me going anyways because DH has ripped his achilles tendon and does not want to go anywhere!!! (That's ANOTHER thread though!!!).
