Does anyone have DirectTVHD?

Just wondering if its worth it with the plasma...

We are currently in negotiations with Samsung because after three techs at our home they have ruled out our brand new Plasma as broken and they don't know why so we are getting an upgrade sometime early next month and are just trying to figure out if we should try the HD reciever..

Re: Does anyone have DirectTVHD?

Our friend got it when he got his DTV and it truly is amazing. I am not one to notice the difference, but when we had regular cable in the apt., I noticed the difference from the DTV we had back in NY and then again when we got it our new house. The high def on their TV is amazing...it looks SO real! Crystal clear picture!

We have a HDTV big screen in the tv room and are considering the HD receiver unit. (not a plasma tv though)

FYI: DTV is running a promo for the unit--the receiver is $199 with a $200 rebate, $99 installation and $14.99 handling fee because it requires a DTV guy to come install it PLUS a new dish. Monthly service is $10.99 a month for HD package.

does that help???

Cablevision HD has more available channels than DirectTV.

I live in Florida.. DJ... Dh needs to watch his Eagles and they don't play them on our regular cable here plus it's one lone cable company and it *****. We have DTV with all the bells and whistles just never realized they have HD until last week. We did that Bell South package.

Re: Does anyone have DirectTVHD?

same with us....the local cable really stinks (the cable modem doesn't even run at full speed so we can't make the call for the TiVo unit!!Chat Icon )

We are debating getting it Laurie...I'll FM you if and when we do.

The time limit on that deal is order the unit by Feb 28 and have it activated by the end of March in order to get the rebate.

I'll keep you posted. We just got DTV last month and I love it. I hated our cable company and they sucked after the hurricanes yet everyone had DTV right after the storm passed running from the generators..lol
We just did the bellsouth bundle which I love but I'm not sure if I need to call bellsouth or DTV. I have the paperwork for getting the rebate for my 100 bucks for the DVR... but I want to see if they will just come back out and do the HD for us and then have us put in the rebate for that.

The problem is Dh is away... I need to figure out if I really want to do it or not....hmmm....

It's expensive but we had 65 channels of cable and internet for almost close to our DTV with all the extra bells and whistles is costing.. we figured with the baby now... TV dates are alot more frequent.
