Does anyone have any information on people who have been caught crossing the border?
My dad has an employee for over 15 years working for him and has helped him to get his green card. He is a wonderful man and I am just asking for a little help.
Please put aside how you feel about people crossing the border
His 13 year old son and cousin tried to cross the border a couple days ago and his cousin was caught and released and he still hasn't heard anything from his son.
They are praying at this point he is in prison because he is a child and if he is on the street he might be dead.
Does anyone know how he can find out if his son is being held? The person that is helping him told him there is a website he can look on, but his english still isnt the best so I can't figure out what hes talking about
I am not looking for this to turn into a debate about how wrong it is what his son did( I do belive he should have done it the right way since he does have a green card). He is a child and this family is so worried. I have tried to google but can't find anything

Did they cross the boarder together? Can he get in touch with the cousin?
Where he is being detained will have a lot to do with where he was apprehended...

The cousin was released they were caught together and separated so they only heard from the cousin after he made it home...
They crossed and were caught in AZ

my DH does this for a living... i will ask him when he gets home from work. i honestly do not think they do anything worse than deport them back to where they came from (in this case Mexico) but i am fairly sure that they will try and contact a family member first to meet the child there before sending them back.

my DH says that NO they will not just let him go - he will have to be released to his parent or another guardian. is his mother still in Mexico?
ETA: can't he ask the cousin where they were caught? DH says there is no website to find out, but if he can find out which post they were near when they were caught they can contact the CBP (Customs and Border Protection) at that post and find out what happened.
