Does anyone have a wood front door?
I wonder how good the wood ones are compared to fiberglass or steel.
I jus love the look of the wood doors.

Our front door is wood - we absolutely LOVE it! It's original to the house (1930) and is as solid as they come!
The only downfall to it is that we have no overhang on our house, so we have to keep the glass storm door on all the time (versus the screen) because the rain and stuff would get the door all wet.

Mine is perfect after 5 years. It's a solid oak door with glass on the upper hald portion.

my parents do. they've had it for more than 25 yrs - they replaced the one that was previously in the house within a very short time after moving in.
they never had any issues.

We have one. I don't like it. Not bc of the wood though. I don't like the glass and how you can see through it.

We have a wooden front door that is original to the house (the house was built in 1910) It is in great shape.
this is the only picture I have with the door in it, sorry it only shows a portion of it.

We have a wooden front Door with a small porch covering it.
Steel and Fiberglass doors have better Insulation R Value then a Wooden one.
They are also less maintance (painting or staining) then a Wooden door.

I used to have a wood one and replaced it last yr with a steel one. I like the steel better. It is painted the color I wanted- brown, and I like it better then the wood. It insulates better too. HTH

our house was built in 1931 and i think a wood Tudor style door would be perfect. I fell in love with one that is $$$ but i want to be sure it will fit the bill. I would always have a storm door though.

I have wood but I actually dont like it because I like the look of glass. But it is great insulation wise. So really a toss up.

I ordered fiberglass doors for our upcoming addition. Even up close, you can't tell that it's not real wood. Same color, same texture. When you feel it, it does feel slightly different, but you get all the benefits of fiberglass, but with the beauty of wood.
