Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
We are having trouble with ours - it's the Touch of Color Model. It takes forever to turn on. It makes the sound like it's turning on, then it "clicks" but doesn't turn on - and that repeats several times.
The TV is 4 years old. I know they have to last longer than that - but I don't believe it's still under warranty.
Any ideas?

Could be a fan. Or if it has a lightbulb in the back ( we have a dlp) that could need to be replaced.

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
My DH and I have a Samsung LCD TV that's a little over 2 years old. We have a different problem with it - the screen turns black while it's on. It started in May, and we took it to Superior Electronics in Bellmore. They charged us little more than than the cost of the parts to repair it. It's started again, and they are going to fix it for free since it's under warranty. My DH did a lot of research, and he says that a lot of people have problems with Samsung.

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
They say that samsung lcd tvs have a low heat tolerance. And it is unique to samsung. If the tv is worth it, a repair shop can fix it easily (if they have the experience) or I'd trade up to an LED or plasma tv, they work very differently and last longer. The LED has a sharper picture, but is also more expensive. A plasma is a nice compromise.

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
OMG! WE DO! and so does my SIL. I AM NOT KIDDING - it takes 15 minutes to turn on. Click on, click off...We joke around and say go turn on the TV so while we're loading the dishwasher and cleaning up, it will have enough time to turn on. SO aggravating. I did a google search on it once and it seems there is a particular model that has this issue. Not sure how to fix it.

We had a phillips that was 4 years old that did the same thing. We never fixed it and it progressivly got worse. We ended up buying a new one.

This happened to us. It got worst and worst until it didn't turn on at all. DH google and found out this is common to this brand and the company will fix it for FREE . Call the company and tell them the issue. They will send someone out to fix it.

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
We just fixed ours for $12!
Same thing was happening to us. Our TV is about the same age.
DH looked into it and found it was a common problem but thought it may be too late to have it repaired for free. He found a kit online for $12 and fixed it himself.
The problem is bad capacitors. Its an easy fix if your DH is handy. He had to take off the back, remove the busted capacitors (you can tell which ones are messed up because they are indented), and solder in the new ones that come in the kit (he may need a soldering iron). The TV is like new!
I dealt with this problem for MONTHS while DH was deployed. It will only get worst and eventually take over 20 minutes just to turn on the d@mn thing.
If you are interested in how it was done and where he got the kit, just FM me and ill ask him.
HTH!

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
Same thing just happened to our tv, as previous posters mentioned it is common with this brand/model. We had ours for 5 years also when this happened. We would like to have it fixed, but opted to take the plunge and get a new t.v.

Re: Does anyone have a Samsung LCD TV?
ours did this 1 year and 1 week after buying!
it was the capacitators.
they use cheap ones. radio shack has them. dh was ready to crack tv open and soder new ones in there.
i got nervous(did not want him to set the house on fire when we plug tv back in) called samsung...told them i found tons of these claims online-that it is bs and i want it fixed asap.
they sent someone out 3 weeks later, they paid for it...repair man said he sees it all the time.
now we also have a green line going down screen. will never samsung again.

We do. I always notice it never turns out right away. It's annoying and I hate it. Other than that one issue, no complaints.

Just as an FYI, when i called Samsung they were SO helpful, it's a common problem that they will fix one time for free, and they are sending someone out soon.

Your LED is safe because the pixelation and picture are presented two totally different ways.
