Does anyone have a Photosmart Printer?
If so, could you tell me why I would want a Photosmart rather than a regular printer?

It has extra cartridges that make photos look a lot better than a standard color inkjet. We have two inkjet printers. A "standard" one for everyday printing, then a Photosmart just for photos. More ink cartridges means more $$, so we don't use it for regular printing. There really is a quality difference in the colors between the two.

I have an HP Photsmart printer. I don't know how I lived without a good quality one for so long. It is a must have for most people.

See thats the funny part - I have a Photosmart Printer - I have for the last 5 years. Well, it decided it wasn't liking us anymore, so it is time to look for a new one.
I didn't know if the Photosmart had more options or something to it - cause I have only had a Photosmart.
Well, I went looking for new ones the other day and NO ONE in the store wanted to help me.
So I was trying to look at them myself, to see what the differences were, but I couldn't really tell.
So it is that is prints pictures better than a regular one. Thats good cause I do ALOT of that.
So I guess I am going to have to research the ones that they have out there with the Photosmart.

Typical color printers have three color carts. A photosmart one will have I believe 3 additional color carts. Instead of mixing with the three it has a choice of 6 colors. I only use HP printers and have for quite a while. I used to work at Circuit City and Comp Usa in college and they were the best value for the money. I have an HP 8250. At the time I got it, it was the worlds fastest printer. I am not sure the fastest in exactly what but it was very quick. it looks like the new model is the HP D7360. I would recommend looking at that printer. If you have any questions I might be able to answer them. I have been out of retail for almost 2 years so I don't know all the features of the new models.

I have a feeling - we might go with the C6180 - cause we like having the All-in-One (copier, fax, printer, scanner)
I just wish there was a way to fix the one we have - I love that printer - the ink cartidge caddy keeps jamming or something.

Unfortunately there is no one(to my knowledge) that fixes printers. Well maybe commercial grade. You will have to get a new one.

Yea - thats what we figured
Oh well - I am sure this other one is just as good - just more $$ in cartridges - we only have 2 in the one we have already

Printers today are considered "disposable" almost. They are often given away free with other purchases, and many times, the ink cartridge replacements cost more than buying an entirely new printer!! Maybe not for a Photosmart, but they still are rarely worth trying to fix.
