Does anyone else have this problem and how do I prevent it?
Whenever I buy the tissue tees, or any thin jersey, I get holes after a few washes. I get them in the same place, right by the fly of my jeans. If I buy a size up, they are too big and shapeless. But I guess the shirt is rubbing against my jeans too much? Usually this happens after a lot of wear but recently with 2 shirts it happened after 1 wearing.
Any ideas on how to prevent this? I find with a lot of my jeans the material near the button does not lay perfectly flat and sort of sticks out.

maybe try wearing a tank top under the tee to prevent your fly from rubbing on the tee?

I'm having the same problem. My belt is putting holes in all of my thin shirts. Those shirts are now my weekend hang-around-house shirts unfortunately. It's very frustrating.
At least it's winter time and it's covered up by my coat if I run out to go shopping!

OMG yes, I get holes in the same exact place, and I never put this together. It annoys me so much. And I do wear tanks under everything like a PP suggested. I was really only noticing it in my shirts from gap though, but maybe that is where I buy all my thin tees?

So bizarre, I just started having this problem recently! The countertops in our new house hut right at button level, so the rubbing when I cook/prep/wash dishes was putting holes in all my shirts. I'm just more careful about how I lean up against the counter now.

it's so hard to find good quality clothing for a reasonable price lately, especially short sleeve/long sleeve Ts and tank tops , they used to last me FOREVER, now I have the same problem , holes after just one or 2 uses/washes or they stretch, change shape, fade....

It happens to me from designer to Target. The thin tees just don't last. I'd love to know about a brand!

I have gone back to Lands' End for my T shirts. They don't pill up after one wash like all of the other brands I have tried. They are a little thicker, but they are a good basic t shirt. I line dry my tshirts to make them last longer too.

Happens to me no matter what the brand. I usually get the holes on the sleeves though.
