Does anyone else get this at the nail salon?

When I get my nails done I always ask for both manis and pedis to cut my nails as short as you can get them... They never seem to be short enough. I ask them to cut shorter-- and they say they "can't" and they are as short as they can get them.

Are my nails just weird??? Or, are they afraid to cut?

My nails grow insanely fast due to being prego-- and I hate long nails. I like to keep my nails very short so if I can't get to the salon, my nails don't get out of control long-- and I hate doing them myself.

It's so annoying!!

the thing is-- when I ask them to go shorter-- they won't! They tell me my skin is in the way... meanwhile, if I break a nail or something really short, I don't break skin. I have no clue what they are talking about.

i cut my nails the way i like before i go in and then ask them to file for me.

i hate long natural nails on me. i am ok with a wrap with long nails.

maybe theyre just afraid to cut them too short.. is this every salon or just a specific one?

i went to a salon and the woman refused to cut them shorter... so i took the clipper.. i NEED to have my natural nails super short bc theyre soft and they break.. and i like dark polish.. which i think only looks good on shorties.

i forced a girl to cut my toe nails short

then, i get a pedi 2 weeks later and the nail lady said 'whoever cut your nails last time cut them too short"

so i am with you and have no idea what they are talking about


if anything, short nails keep the manicure longer so maybe keeping them long assures youll come back sooner? otherwise, i have no clue

I don't care too much about my finger nails but I HATE when they won't cut my toe nails short!!! Sometimes I cut them myself before I go!!

they NEVER cut my toenails short enough. It sucks!

I have had such frustration with this. I wear acrylics but not long. They never used to cut enough so I bought the clippers with the round edge that are meant for acrylics. I cut them before I go now, but I realize they will get a little shorter with filing. Usually they just want to do a fill-in and I can't get them to cut. Last time I went, the girl commented about my short I cut my nails then proceeded to cut them even more before she filed. Now I have super short pink and whites. She was probably doing that to prove a point, but this is still better than having them too long!!!!!!! I'm going somewhere else next time.

I like my nails very short to

they do this because longer nail chip the paint, and longer nails grow even longer and you come back sooner. Or so i am convienced

I just keep telling them, shorter, and I refuse to let them put polish on till they are as short as I want them. I'm paying!!

i went to get my nails done tonight and she wouldn't make them shorter for me!!
not only were they not making them short but i hated the way the polish looks...they told me to come back in the morning for a polish change.

i'm going to cut them myself as suggested.
