Do your kids have a facebook page?
I am not a big facebook user. I have the same 100 friends from 4 years ago and rarely add new ones. When people ask me if I have facebook, I usually say no. I don't update because I don't necessarily want my ex bfs and/or old professional colleagues to know what I do with my kids.
Thinking about creating a facebook page for the kids and keeping in touch with family friends.

My FB page is my way to keep in touch with family and friends, I never set up anything separate for my DD. But my FB page is filled with updates on DD and a ton of pics so for me I wouldn't really see the need to do anything separate from my own page........but I'm okay with anyone on my friends list seeing what I post. KWIM? 
But I do get what you're saying about wanting to keep things separate from your ex's and work people so maybe it's not such a bad idea to do a separate page.
