Do you wake your DC up from naps? 15+ months
Lately I have been waking Chelsea up from her naps. She has been sleeping 2+ hours and I have things to do!
Do you wake your DC up from naps or just let them wake up naturally?
How long generally are your DC's naps?
DD is 17 months.

I do not wake dd up from naps...she is 27 months and now that she is in her new, full size, comfy bed, she can nap for 3 hours

Re: Do you wake your DC up from naps? 15+ months
The last few days DS took some long naps, over 3 hours two days! We didn't have to go anywhere though, so I let him sleep. He's not a big sleeper, so if he's taking long naps I figure he really needs the rest and leave him be unless I have to be somewhere at a certain time.
Today I have a doctor's appt. though, so he's getting woken up most likely.

I try to let him wake up naturally but if we have some place to be I will wake him (begrudgingly) earlier. I do get him dressed for the day and everything ready to go though so that when he does wake up I change his diaper and we can walk out the door.

No way, he becomes evil and he is a sleeper! He napped from 10:30 am today till 2:00 but I know it just means he needed the rest/sleep.

Re: Do you wake your DC up from naps? 15+ months
I will wake DS if I have stuff to do. Generally I will first just open the door to his room and hope that the noise of me moving around will wake him. But if not I will pick him up from his crib.
DS usually sleeps 1.5 hours - 2 hours a day. I will not wake him if he is sick or if he seems to be coming down with something or if I have no plans. Its only if we have some where we are going.

No, unless we have an appointment or something like that.
Otherwise, I figure that she'll only sleep as long as she needs to.

DD is 21 months and there is no way you could pay me enough to wake her up.
She usually takes at least 1, 2 hour nap, if not 2 and yes, certain days I don't leave the house, but I know if I wake her up I won't be able to get anything done because she'll be too cranky.

Re: Do you wake your DC up from naps? 15+ months
We do if her afternoon nap goes too long - she goes to bed for the night at 7:30 so when she's still asleep after 5:00/5:30 I start watching the clock.
The few times we've done it she usually snaps up right away so it's not like I'm really disturbing her. If I can't wake her with a little tickle I leave her alone and let her rest more.
ETA: She's 17.5 months.

DS is only 5 months granted he's young. and I know this post was ment for older kids, But I would def. not wake him up from his naps even if he was older. I would rearrange whatever I have to do. He is a completely different person without sleep.

Maybe I'll start getting her dressed before her nap.
It is just difficult because she has started napping right in the middle of the day! So by the time she gets up the day is half over. I think I might try putting her down earlier.
Thanks!

See Chelsea is OK when I wake her up. Not grouchy at all.
Sometimes things cannot be rearranged.
