Unless your dr advises you that your child is not gaining enough weight or not wetting enough diapers.

i did not wake my baby to eat even tho most hospitals encourage woman to do so. i let my dd sleep. if she was hungry she would get up and let me know. if i woke her up she'd be super cranky. but do whatever you feel is best. go on your motherly instincts. good luck!

I only did when we were concerned about his weight in the very beginning. Once he started gaining the weight back (he lost more than 10% in the hospital b/c I wasn't producing anything really) then we stopped!

DD was severly jaundiced so we had to wake her every 3 hours. Unless your ped has specifically told you to do so, let her sleep!

Yes I wake them up during the day and don't wake them up during the night.. I read that is suppose to teach them the difference between day and night.

I did in the beginning just to help build my supply. By 3 weeks old I let him do whatever he wanted.

Do not wake that baby unless she is losing weight. If you have a baby who sleeps enjoy it and get some sleep yourself!

same here... we never let her go more than 2-3 hrs sleeping during the day when she was a newborn... she had her days and nights confused at first, and waking her helped to set them straight...

nope.
the nurses told me to wake him to eat every 2 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night.
i never had to wake him at night and i'll be damned if i was going to wake him during the day when i was napping
