My car is too old to have navigation so I use my phone's Google maps navigation.
Dh has built in navigation in his truck that he paid more for and to be honest, it sucks. It is annoying to program, it takes you on the most inefficient, round about routes, and it has gotten us lost.
To be honest, unless the car offers Google maps as their navigation system I am not going to bother getting it.

I use google maps every day. I travel during rush hours and find it works best for me.

we have a GPS for the car but its old and sucks. its taken us to gods country a few times.
i use mapquest or google maps on my phone. DH uses Google maps now and puts his phone on a dashboard mount if he's using it as a GPS.

One of my cars does, the other does not. I hate using the Maps app because I don't have one of those holders and I don't like playing with my phone while I'm driving, obviously.
DH swears by Waze. I hate it.

My car technically doesn't have a built in gps but it has apple CarPlay (and android auto) so if my phone (or DH's android) is plugged in, it uses the gps from our phone and displays it on the screen.
