Do you tip your photographer?
I hired a professional photographer to do my kids Christmas pictures (instead of going to JCPenney's like I normally do) I am getting a mini session - 45 min to an hour and the sitting fee is $75. Am I suppose to tip her and if so, how much would be approproriate? I am new to all of this. Thanks for your help.

Re: Do you tip your photographer?
I never thought of tipping. They are making the cash directly, so it didn't occur to me to give more. If you hire someone who works for someone else, then I would.

Re: Do you tip your photographer?
I tipped bc I had bought a groupon which was very reasonable and thought it might help me get the pictures quicker, still waiting to see if it worked

Yeah I always do, they are performing a service. While they may be making more than a server or bartender, a photographer spends lots of time after the sitting working for you and only you, where as servers have many clients at once.

I don't, but that's because they own the business. I don't even remember where I heard that from though so the advice may be outdated. Hoping it's not!! But, I was under the impression that if you use the owner for a service you don't tip.

Re: Do you tip your photographer?
I did because the photog really spent A LOT of time with DD and was so incredibly patient. Between all of the time spent during the shoot and then editing afterwards, I personally felt it was appropriate.
