Do you think this would be weird?
OK, so I'm having a  in approx. 3 mos, and we are really struggling with a name, but part of me really wants the middle name to be Scott, which is my oldests 1st name.
My oldest is 10, he's a great kid, a great big brother to Cassidy and I'm sure to this newest little one, and he's the only one in the house with a different last name, since he's from my 1st marriage (my last name is hyphenated...old married name-new married name). I just thought since he is older, it would be a nice way to honor him, and a nice way to incorporate his 1st name with the new last name.
Honestly, do you think this is strange?

I don't think that would be weird at all--I think it's such a wonderful tribute and really touching. My DH's brothers' names are Robert and Michael and his name is Peter Michael after his middle brother (who was 9 years old at the time). Since the older brother was his godfather, his mother wanted to honor the other one too!

We actually were thinking of having Scotty as the Godfather, but the church said he'd need to be at least 14. Thanks so much for the reply!

I think that is very nice and I'm sure your son would be honored. If he can't be a godfather, maybe he can be a confirmation sponsor one day.
