Do you think its bad that at 7 1/2 months old
Paige still doesnt respond to her name.
I dont know why but this autism thing is always on my mind.
She also doesnt babble consonents (sp?). She makes noises, but its mainly screaming noises.

Don't worry!!!
doe she seek you out when you leave a room? Does she look for you around the room? Does she smile? Does she respond to peek a boo?
I dont think 7 mts is still a time when they make consonant sounds - I think its around 10 mts... Screaming sounds are ok - does she make them and look at you? If you respond to them, does she smile?

She does look for me while in the room. She also loves to seek out my dogs. She definitely smiles and smiles at peek a boo. She doesn't look at me while screaming she usually screams when she is jumping in the jumperoo. It seems as if when i call her name she is so preoccupied in doing things. She is always looking around and being nosey and touching everything in sight.
Im so glad you responded. I was gonna FM you because im so nervous about this. I mentioned it to the ped. a few months ago but he said she was fine, but now its a few months later and still nothing wiht respect to babbling and responding to her name.
We see the dr. on friday so im just gonna ask him more.

DOn't worry..I'm sure it is fine..My DD was screaming a lot at 7-8 months.. Now at 8 months..a few days ago she started saying Mama... She went from screaming to saying mama all the time..and hardly screams now.. Maybe it is a phase. As long as your DD is smiling etc..I'm sure it is fine. Also does she let you hold her/hugs.. Autistic kids usually don't like to be touched.

It could be a phase. DS was doing the screaming thing for a few weeks. All of a sudden, last week I hear him say "Aaaah..Dada"...I did a double take..LOL
He will be 8 months old on Sat.
I would not worry.
