Ds doesn't speak to us. He is getting speech 2x a week. This past week he has been bringing me his wipes when he poops. So he knows he does poop and needs to be changed. Do you think I should maybe attempt this or wait until he can say poop/pee? I don't want to rush it.

Chels tells us both, she even tells us when she fartsChat Icon That said, I have tried to put her on the potty when I see her going she flips and doesn't want to sit on it...I'm going to try to put her on the regular toilet with a seat to see if that goes over better since she sees me go on that one...so let's see what happens

Communication is communication (whether it be words or action) so I say start introducing and just go at his his own pace..See what he wants to do with it Chat Icon

With Lexi we use the adapter ring for the toilet...She has "poop" pretty much down pat ( and dare I say we haven't changed a poopy diaper in 5 days plus in a rowChat Icon )...She now is asking to go peepee here and there...It started the same way ( her acknowledging she had to go, or that she had gone)

With my DS we started with the little potty, but he took a bigger interest in the real toilet quickly...Even if you just have it in sight for him to get used to looking at, thats a great start !
