Do you run your DC's toothbrush through the dishwasher?
My cousin used to do this with her 3 kids when they were little and she swore by it. I just thought she was crazy  Today I went o pick up antibiotics for TJ at the pharmacy because he has tonsilitis AGAIN and the pharmacist asked if I do this. She said to obviously change his toothbrush when he is over being sick but that I should run all of our toothbrushes through the dishwasher twice a week.
Does anyone do this?

I do, when I remember. My mom alway did when we were growing up, so I just picked up the habit from her.
With the kids, they seems to "chew" the bristles on their toothbrush, so I feel like I replace them more than I probably should.

For some reason the thought of using a toothbrush in my mouth after dishwashing soap has been on it, grosses me out.
We just buy new ones.

Yes....I do this every other week or so. When someone is sick we just toss them.
The brushes never taste soapy, plus I use natural soaps in the dishwasher.

I never heard of this and I would think the dishwashing detergent would leave a residue of some sort on the bristles.
I replace Thomas' brush often because he chews on the bristles.

I have a toothbrush sanitizer that I put my DS's toothbrush in every night! It takes 10 minutes to clean!
