Yes you do! Forget cute, get a TINY LOVE mobile, they are fantastic! We are still using ours and the kid loves it! He turns it on, off, on, off...and the music does soothe him to sleep!

I had one, but with the kind of crib I had, it didnt fit. And I didnt feel comfortable rigging it up, b/c it didnt look safe. I never used one. We did have that Oceans Wonders Aquarium thing though that attached to the slats of the crib and Genevieve really liked that!

DD loves her mobile. We got the regular one, she's almost 9 months old and still uses it (she doesn't stand or sit up in her crib yet).
I am going to cry when the time comes to take it down, it soothes her at night to go to sleep

I didn't get one for Hayley's crib. Plus her crib has thick top rails and has a rounded back to it would have been impossible to attach one,

I think it's great to have, however the one that was part of our bedding set is a wind up one and it lasts literally maybe 1 minute. My brother got this for DD for Christmas and she LOVES it. It is battery operated. It also lights up stars and fish on the ceiling. She looooooves looking at it. And the best feature...it has a remote so when it shuts off you can just click it back on without her seeing me!

II don't think that you "need" one and I am not a big fan of the ones that come with the bedding sets because some are usually pastel colors that little babies can't see.
It is really for the baby and they love them. They really love bright colors and contrasting patterns like dots, stripes and black and whites.
My son loved the iony Love Mobile and I could get it to fit on the thick rimmed crib.

I registered for one that is supposed to be stimulating and educational as opposed to one that matches the bedding....i think it may be Einstein or Tiny Love...

I had one, but it didn't really do anything for DS. Since I have it, I will use it for this one, but if I had known, I probably wouldn't have bothered. They can only use it until about 6 months anyway

i have to say I was all about the look of the nursery and hated all the mobiles... but I agree with Racheeee the Tiny Love mobiles are the best.
DD LOVES hers.
granted- they are ugly as heck- but really at the end of the day- it's whatever keeps DC happy & QUIET!
This is the one we have- it' plays for 15 minutes either Bach, Beethovan or Mozart.
edited to say- my crib is thick rimmed and it fits!

Most babies like them, you dont' HAVE to have one though. My daughter liked the ceiling fan a lot more.

that's the one we registered for - I like that it plays music for 15 minutes. I think it's kind of cool looking actually - though my taste runs more to modern and contemporary stuff than pastels.
