Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
We always color eggs the night before Easter. and Our kids always do the Egg hunt when they get up in the morning... This year we are going to do a hunt for the Easter basket too... a piece of yarn tied to the basket and then woven alllll through the house so that Jordan has to follow it to his basket. ( I read it in Family Fun... seemed like a cute idea that he would enjoy)... Any traditions that you do with your kids?

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
We grew up decorating eggs before Easter....can't do it with Emily because of her severe egg allergies (should probably could touch the outside of the egg but God forbid it broke or was leaking it'd be a mess and totally not worth it) Instead we will stick with our other tradition of "hiding" eggs around the house for her. My parents did that with us (actually, inside and outside ) for her to find. I even bought her a small felt PBKs bucket for the hunt

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
We didn't do anything last year besides making her a basket since she was still an infant but this year I want to color eggs with her the night before and on Easter morning fill some plastic eggs with goodies and have her "hunt" them.

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
We will be coloring eggs the night before also and then we will have an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning. TERI- a few years ago I put a hole in the bottom of the eggs and let the egg leak out so that they were hollow and colored them that way. I can't remember how I made the hole, though. Maybe with a pin? The hole was very small and unnoticeable. Although the eggs are fragile, maybe if you still want to color them this could be an option.

Teri instead of decorating real eggs, how about getting a plastic egg, or even a wood shaped egg, and decorating that with glitter, and paint and beads, so that she can still decorate eggs, just not the real ones, and you can keep them unlike real eggs.

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
Joanne and Michelle - thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely be a bit more creative as she gets older (decorating wooden or plastic eggs is a great idea), but for now, she's still young to be playing with glue, etc and she is still known for eating some things she shouldn't be so the hunt this year will be enough. But next year, we will definitely decorate them

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
DH and I had traditions when we still lived with our parents, but we haven't started any of our own yet. We'll be dying eggs for the first time this year, but when Christopher is sleeping. Next year when he's not so "grabby", he'll dye eggs with us and we'll hide them for him to find.

Re: Do you have any Easter "traditions"?
Since I host Easter and my in-laws all come down for it. I have 7 adults and 3 children here for the weekend (couting us) and 15 total for dinner. The night before we color eggs. I also got an Easter Egg Cookie decoration kit for them to each decorate cookies. In the morning they hunt outside for the plastic eggs. I fill them up with Hershey kisses, nickels/dimes/quarters. And they hunt for real eggs inside the house. It is a fun time.
