I have two- a personal one on a secure site and a teacher one that is anonymous. My personal one is less anon; I have become friendly with several people over the 4 years I've been there and we exchange holiday cards, etc.

yes, I have (had for 4 yrs or so) a journal on a messageboard where the members pay an annual fee, that way "joe schmoe" can't just read my journal (not that there's much in it.  )

To be honest, I didn't see the point for a long time! But I am glad I got on the bandwagon.
My personal one- I was single and dating when I started it 4 years ago. I wrote about lots of bad dates and my life in general. I also was able to connect with other people in the same boat who gave me advice when I needed it. When I met DH, I wrote a lot about our courtship. When we got engaged, I used it as a planning journal, which was fun. I also used it as a travel journal when on vacation. I love that I have a record of my life, and I have met some great people. I don't dish super-personal stuff but the site I am on has a feature that allows you lots of flexibility about who reads on an entry by entry basis.
My teacher blog gives me a chance to use my brain a little and reflect on things I do in my classroom. I read lots of other teacher blogs when I have time- they are great for ideas and insights. I write about my kids and I write about the political aspects of teaching in NYC. But that one is super-anon because I need to be able to say what I want when I want. I try really hard to keep any and all identifying info off there.

My cousins who live in another state do this and I LOVE it. One in particular is really well done and they post photos and funny stories about their toddler. I love reading it because I get a lot of snippets about their life and I don't really get to talk to them that often.
