do you have a mild case of OCD?

i was told today that i do and i have to agree! some of my OCD habits...

-all of the towels in our bathroom have to be perfectly lined up at all times (DH says im like the creepy guy in "Sleeping with the Enemy")

-on my desk at work, all of the pens are separated by color

-when i listen to the radio or watch tv, the volume # must always be on an even #

-i check my alarm clock 3x to make sure its set to the right time before i can relax and go to sleep

-i cant walk by our front door without touching the door knob

i'll think of more as i come across them!

how about you? any pet peeves or obsessive compulsive habits you have???

That's considered a MILD case

The only thing I can think of is when the shades/blinds/windows are open they all have to be opened equal amounts. Can't have 1 open and the other closed or 1/2 open. Drives me nuts.

I am TOTALLY OCD about certain things!

I agree with you on:
-when I listen to the radio or watch tv, the volume # must always be on an even #

- I check my alarm clock 3x to make sure its set to the right time before I can relax and go to sleep (I have even lost sleep over this )

I also do:
- the towels in my bathroom have to be stacked blue/yellow/blue/yellow etc. even though they are IN the closet

- the window blinds have to be open evenly on each side

wow do I ever!

Here's some of mine:

~I always have to check the stove and micro before I leave the house and once isn't enough. I sometimes make myself late checking bc I have a fear that if i don't check the house will go up in flames

~After I walk my dog in the AM, right before I leave for work I have to touch him to make sure he's there and I didn't leave him outside

~I cant have a messy paper. If I make a mistake and cross it out then I have to start over

~I check 100x that I locked the front door

ETC, ETC So many to count

the irony of mine is that i'm the first to admit that i'm not a neat or very well organized person.

mine are:
~ when i do the floors: i sweep, mop, wash the mop, sweep again, mop again, and wash the mop again. i need to get up the "clean dirt"... yes, that's what i call it!

~ towels have to be folded a particular way. in half, then in half again, and then in thirds.

~ my knitting needles need to all be color coordinated. if i get knitting needles as a gift and they don't match the ones i have, i'll exchange them.

i know i have more, but it's all that comes to mind right now

I lock doors repeatly

I check the doors a million times before I go to bed and I constantly click my truck to lock...

When we lived in Long Beach in a condo I used to lay in bed and turn to DH and say I dont think I locked the car I would go downstairs and walk 2 blocks and beep the car in the dead of winter.....

I am pretty bad with that I drive me DH nuts

YES!

I always have to wash my hands, or use hand sanitizer.

I check that I locked my door several times, I sometimes even after getting to the elevator go back and check again. To the point of yesterday I actually called my mom when I was at work to ask her to go to my apartment to check that I locked my door.

I'm the same with towels they have to be lined up.

Everything has to be neat and organized.

I can only sleep if my comforter is completely lined up

I used to be very OCD with how things were set up at the dinner table when I'd go out to eat, but then one day I focused on not doing it and ever since its never happened again.

Totally self diagnosed as OCP.

I do with my alarm clock...I check it like 20 times before I go to bed

DH gets so angry with me sometimes about it! Lately, it's when we're playing Wii. I wind up leaving when it is his turn to do dishes, load laundry, fold clothes, make bed or something household like!
