Do you have a "fluffy" or shag-like carpet?

I am looking to put carpet in the nursery and I wanted to get something a little more fluffy than regular carpet (but not too shaggy).
DH feels that this kind of carpet will get "worn" a lot quicker and shows track marks where you walk most frequently. Does anyone find this true? TIA!

We have a plush frieze in DD's room...I LOVE IT!! There is no signs of wear and we've had the carpet installed for almost a year.

However in our bedroom we have frieze and in the entrance there is some very slight wear....it's just not as poofy as the rest of the bedroom. It's been installed for over a year but we had a lot of movement in and out of the bedroom.

i have shag carpet in our bedroom, and an area rug in the living room - love it!
definitely no noticeable wear or tear (however, they're only 6 mos. old)

We've had our shag rug in our LR for at least 4 years now if it gets matted down by furniture or something - the vacuum brings it back to it's original luster...much better/easier than regular carpets.

We have shag in our bedroom....it looks brand new and has probably been there for 5+ years...
