do you have a birthday tradition?

I want to start a birthday tradition for Talia - so I am looking for ideas - what are your birthday traditions?

But I was watching Everybody loves Raymond the other night...

And his mom had to give him his "birth minute" kiss...

I thought it was great and something special just for me and him...

So on his b-day @ 11:06am he will get a smooch

My family has had a tradition since i was a child. At all of my Birthdays my cake was eaten and displayed on a table cloth that my grandma had made years ago. My baby shower cake was put on it and Kaylee ate her first birthday cake with it out too. It's a silly tradition but it make me feel like my grandma is still around even though she passed away 8 years ago.

Does anyone do anything special on their child's bday each year?

I'm thinking of planting a tree on G's bday & taking a picture e/ year in front of it.

I also bought a special bday plate w/ her name on it which she can have her cake off every year.

I'll measure her every year

I saw an idea on parenting that you take a big piece of paper & put their handprint & then have the guests sign the paper.

On the day Hayley was born my DH had his sister go to Build a Bear and make her a giraffe (I love giraffe's)...we went on her 1st and her 2nd birthday to make new animals. I don't know how long I will keep it up then I will start a new one .

We spend their birthday with them doing something special if we can't do thier party on the day. I also plan on making their cakes and they each get thier own cake, they won't share one.
