Do you guys really replace bottle nipples every 6-8 wks?
I use Born Free and they recommend it. Just wondering. Thanks!

Nope. We upgraded to the next level at 3 months and plan to do the same at 6 months... the nipples have been resilient enough to last the three months.

we used playtex and the only replacement we did was for quicker flow or if something happened to the nipple making it unsafe.
DS was on bottles for 18 months

Same here. I have never bought more of the same level nipple...just switch when it is time for them to move up.

so far I have not replaced them. DD is almost 7 weeks but we just moved up from the 4oz bottles to the 8oz bottles b/c she is drinking 5oz now so they came with new nipples. I think as long as you wash them in your dishwasher or boil them every so often its fine not to get new ones
I also use Born Free

nope. never.
We use silicone nipples. The latex ones need to be replaced sometimes because they become yucky looking.

We replaced them every three months. The plastic degrades after continual use, washing and or boiling. My father used to sell industrial grade plastics and he told me to discard them. DS was on $30 per nipple special needs feeders. I was none to thrilled but did it because it is safer. Thankfully DD used normal ones - but we still replaced them every 3 months. I do the same for the sippy valves now.
