Do you eat cooked sushi?
I have been getting some wicked sushi cravings lately and did with last pg also. I know last time (after much debate and internal turmoil  ) I caved and had cooked sushi a handful (maybe not even) of times. I know some people think it's not even safe to eat becuase they are probably cutting it with the same knife, using the same cutting board, etc.
How do you feel about this? Did anyone's doctor comment either way on this topic?

I like sushi but I don't have even cooked sushi because I worry about them using the same utensils to make it.
I know some people are into the whole "everything in moderation" and that a little is okay, but I don't even bother risking it. I figure I can go 9 months without sushi, alcohol, hot dogs, and cold cuts. There are plenty of other foods out there!

I agree. I just don't think they would bother to make sure the cooked sushi isn't made on the same surface, with the same utensils, wash their hands after touching the raw, etc

It's like anywhere else- if you go to a reputable place it will be fine.
Besides, how you you know a worker didn't use tongs on raw chicken then use them for your salad? Going to any restaurant is a risk, but most follow food safety guidelines just fine.

Also, I've read articles about how Japanese women eat raw sushi as part of their daily diet. While I'm not saying raw fish is safe (I really don't know) I've heard some debate on how dangerous it really is for pregnant women. It seems to be forbidden in the US is all I know!

I agree as well. I havent has sushi but mostly because I dont really lilke it but I have had tuna fish and cold cuts!

I do. I also take a few pieces of some tuna rolls that dh eats. im a everything in moderation girl. as long as it doesnt spike up my numbers im good.

totally like even twice a week!!! i honestly cant eat too many things now and sushi are one of the very few things i have been craving a lot.

i eat cooked and raw prefer RAW 
ETA - research it. you are 6 times more likely to become ill eating undercooked chicken than you are eating raw sushi!

I don't because of the mix of utensils used to make it. I think the sushi in Japan is different from the sushi served in the US so to me, it's not the same comparing what Japanese women eat to what I eat. Also, I really like tuna and we're supposed to limit our tuna intake because of the mercury so it would be kinda pointless to me. It's just another few months. I can handle waiting.

I totally agree.
I've been eating shrimp/mango/avacado rolls and California rolls. I would just make sure you trust the place you're going. There are plenty of clean and reputable sushi restaurants on LI and in the city.

When I want sushi we go out and I ask them to use a new knife, cutting board, etc for my food so no cross contamination, and they have no problem with it. Usually they just wash the knife and cutting area down, which is fine with me.

This.
DH and I have a place we often frequent. The waitress knows that I can only have cooked sushi, and that it must be made using a fresh knife and cutting board. The first time I made the request, she didn't flinch and said, "Congratulations." They must get the request pretty often.

I have had cooked sushi a handful of times this pregnancy. I was craving it, and nothing I ate was satisfying the craving so I caved. I ended up eating the cooked stuff from a place we always get our sushi from.

I only eat California rolls, maybe once or twice a month, and only from this one sushi restaurant that we've been going to for years that we feel is very clean.
