Do you drive differently with others in the car?
I don't mean family or DH or people you drive with all the time...I mean, like friends. For some reason with certain people I drive tensely....and I'm a good, comfortable driver but with some people it's like you're taking your road test! Or I do something stupid I would never do if I were alone. anyone else? I feel silly!

Um...... yes... my MIL!!!!!!!! She is a complete nervous wreck in the car and I have to drive like I'm in driver's ed other wise she has a complete heart attack... and I'm not joking.

Yes, I am much more aware of not driving like I am racing.
(I used to race, so sometimes I feel like I still have that mentality - it's bad I know )
ETA: Except with DH, and he used to race as well.

My father was the worst! Would never let me turn left! Everywhere we went he had to tell me to take the longest route so I would only have to make right turns

Yes...
When my mom is in the car the needle on my speedometer can't go past 45 miles per hour or else she'll have a panic attack!!!

Me too. I actually don't think I'm a good driver- but with him in the car I'm far worse. When others are in the car, friends or family I drive far more cautiously. I'm just overall not comfortable driving people - I wonder how I'll be with kids in the car.

Yes. I drive best when I'm alone or with DH, but that's probably because if I'm driving with him he's asleep. When I have people in the car with me I tend to stop short a lot.

I have this problem so badly. I drive wonderfully by myself. But with anyone else, I drive horribly. Its so embarrasing and people think I am a bad driver, even though there is nothing in my past history to reflect that I am.

Not really, I'm a really confident driver no matter who is in the car, but once or twice I have done a stupid move that probably never would have happened if I was alone.
ETA: I must admit though, when my FIL is in the car I like to scare him (he has told DH that I make him nervous because he thinks I'm too aggressive, he's the type to let the whole world cut in front of him and get to his destination next week), so my favorite move is to fly through the EZpass lane and make it look as though I'm about to hit the bar before it goes up, that always gets him!!
