No whenever I had bangs I always cut my own. Just make sure you snip into them rather than cutting a straight line...

I give myself haircuts all the time.
I got fed up with people not listening to what I wanted done.
I read up how to do it online.

I did this in HS once when I had bangs... and I kept cutting on each side to try and even it out when before I knew it ...... they were SO short and I had to go to school like that until they grew out!!  
Oh, and a tip... don't cut them when they're wet!!
