some REs dont do b2b. it depends who your RE is. some dont believe that b2b increases the chances. statistically im not sure that it does but many RE's do them to cover early or late ovulation.

We only did one. They didn't mention back to back but maybe b/c we were paying out of pocket?

I agree with this. I go to Dr.B and he does back to back with everyone.

Re: Do you always do a B2B IUI???
It depends. Once I surge, they schedule the IUI for the next day. Before the IUI, they do a sonogram to see if I've O'd yet. If I have, then they only do the one IUI. If not, they have me come back the next day for a 2nd one.

Re: Do you always do a B2B IUI???
My dr's don't typically do them - they do sono's for a few days leading up to when i trigger, then do the iui 24 hours after the trigger, and tell me to go home and that night and the next day.
They also said if i want to do b2b iui i could, but it doesn't really increase your chances any more than on the 2nd time They also said it was up to me if i wanted to have to take off work or be late 2 days in a row (which wasn't convenient for dh or i several times we did the iui's)
i also think the sperm count has something to do with it as well (if they think its necessary or not)

Yup. Dr. B always does them, but I don't know how much it really improves chances over the next day. It really seems to depend on the doctor. I figure it can't hurt!

Re: Do you always do a B2B IUI???
I go to Dr. B. so I did btb. I would think it would increase chances. I triggered on tues, so if I will o about a day and a half later, the wed and thurs IUI will cover it. I guess you could BD the 2nd day too.

My doc doesn't do b2b's. I'm sure she would if I pushed for it, but she said recent studies show that it doesn't make an impact.

Re: Do you always do a B2B IUI???
You only have one shot to get pg from an IUI each month. Washed sperm only live for 6 hours (unlike sperm in semen, which can live for days).
Having B2B IUIs means that (hopefully) one is timed correctly and the other is timed incorrectly. If you're seeing an RE and getting sonos and blood tests, they should be able to tell you which one day is the correct one, and get you the IUI on that day. Research indicates that B2B IUIs aren't any more successful than just one.
