Do I Actually Need These 10 Things?
I have no idea if any of these are essential or not, some of them I don't even know what they are/do. Please help by letting me whether or not I need these 10 things.
-sleep sack
-night light
-bottle sterilizer
-nursing stool
-splat mat
-booster seat
-car seat head support
-head support
-stroller sun shade
-baby powder

IMO:
-sleep sack - yes, if you will not use a blanket
-night light - cheap led one will help light the room enough for middle of the night feedings and changes so you don't have to turn on the light. Alternately, if you have a dimmer switch in the room the baby will be, you can use that on the lowest setting.
-bottle sterilizer - no
-nursing stool - n/a (i didn't BF)
-splat mat - no, b/c i have no idea what this is lol
-booster seat - for eating or for the car? Either way, you won't need them until later
-car seat head support - we didn't use one
-head support - no b/c i'm not sure what this is, we def didn't use one
-stroller sun shade - depends on your stroller. some shades are shorter than others. I'd hold off and buy it if you feel you need it when you're actually using the stroller.
-baby powder - i loved it during the summer, but only cornstarch (talcum gets in the lungs)

-nursing stool: eh, any stool, box, ottoman will do!
-splat mat: never used one
-booster seat: DD is still in the highchair at 17m so still have not used one
-car seat head support: just what came with the car seat, never bought an extra one - i was told not to add anything to the car seat
-head support: ?
-stroller sun shade: never used one
-baby powder: never used it

ITA agree with this, except we do use a LOT of baby powder. I love ot after bathtime, during the summer, and often during diaper changes. But you should not use powder on an infant.

-nursing stool - I dont even know what this is.
-splat mat - or what this is
-booster seat - not for a while so don't buy it now
-car seat head support - any support should be included with the car seat
-head support -
-stroller sun shade - I just have the shade that comes with the stroller
-baby powder - I have some but haven't used it yet.

-sleep sack: Yes, we still don't use blankets and DS is 22 months
-night light: Not necessary, but DS' tiny love mobile had a little light on that I would use if I needed to check him
-bottle sterilizer: No. We boiled water in a pot, easy peasy. I did use the Medela Sterilization bags though and those were great! I'd recommend those.
-nursing stool: Not necessary.
-splat mat: Not necessary
-booster seat: To eat in or for the car? If it's the eating one, if you have a high chair you won't need a booster for over a year. If it's the car booster, you won't need that until your DC is over 4 years old. They are usually in a convertible seat until then.
-car seat head support: No. You should not use anything in a carseat that didn't actually come WITH the carseat.
-head support: Only if you plan on putting baby in a regular stroller from the beginning so that will help his/her head not to flop around, but otherwise, not necessary at all.
-stroller sun shade: What stroller are you getting? If it's the city mini, this is NOT necessary at all since it has a huge canopy. If it's something else with a really small canopy then you might want to get it.
-baby powder: Only cornstarch should be used on babies, never talc. But honestly, we never used it with DS.

The only thing I thing you need is sleep sacks. They are honeslty one of the best inventions IMO. DD will be 3 in March and still sleeps in one every night!

Of these items, the only things I used were a bottle sterilizer (but, I could've done without it), night light (moreso so I could see DS in the middle of the night without turning the lights on), booster seat (for eating - I have one that I use when we go to people's homes), and stroller sun shade (my Maclaren did not have a good sun shade - if you have something though like a City Mini, you won't need this).
I only really used the sleep sack for one month with DS - we used the Swaddle Mes for awhile and then transitioned to the sleep sack to wean him off the swaddle. By that point, it was warm out so we just put him in his bed in his pajamas.

-sleep sack - Heck, yeah. Love them.
-night light - Yes, unless you're a cat and can see in the dark for night feedings.
-bottle sterilizer - n/a (I ebf)
-nursing stool - no; my glider was fine on it's own. Didn't need an ottoman/stool
-splat mat - yes, but not until baby starts eating (and throwing) finger foods.
-booster seat - yes, but not until much later.
-car seat head support - NO. Don't add any additional products to a car seat; it can affect the safety of the seat.
-head support - nope, see above
-stroller sun shade - depends on the stroller
-baby powder - no, the talc can get into baby's lungs. I will rarely use a conrstarch powder if DD has a little diaper rash.

IMO:
-sleep sack - yes, but it depends when baby is born. DS was born in Feb and I barely used it.. DD was born in Sept and I use it all the time. I think it depends on the season your baby is born
-night light - I got one b/c it matched the room, but I don't think you need one
-bottle sterilizer - nah
-nursing stool - n/a
-splat mat - for me this was a necessity. I live in a condo with carpets everywhere, so I had to use it under the high chair so carpet wasn't ruined
-booster seat - yes
-car seat head support - no
-head support - nope
-stroller sun shade - never used one
-baby powder - we only use baby powder when we're at the beach to get sand off.
