Do Gentlease/Sensitive/Good Start
Help with reflux? DS was on Good Start for gas and digestive pain, but DD is definately battling reflux. It isn't severe, but enough to cause her to spit-up pretty often (although, not usually a lot) and cause her some mild discomfort. I am planning to address it with my ped at her 1 month (she is 3 wks today). I have to buy formula today and was wondering if I should try one of these kinds. Do they help reflux?

Re: Do Gentlease/Sensitive/Good Start
My Ped started DD on Enfamil AR to help with her reflux. unfortunately we had to switch again b/c she had other allergy issues but it has Rice in it already to help keep the spit up down
Maybe bring that one up as well?

We switched DD to Emfamil Gentlease. It def helped with her gas issues but she still spits up alot - sometiems even projectile. My dr said she'll grow out of it.

DS has slight reflux and I'm finding Similac Sensitive to help.
The Similac Sensitive RS contains Rice Starch and it's for spit up.

We use Gentlease -- it helps with the gas, but not with the reflux. He slowly grew out of that and does not spit up nearly as much as he used to (he is 6 mos now).

Same with us.. the Sensitive helped him slightly. It took 2 weeks to notice a diference. THe RS just backed him up terribly & when he finally went, it was hard & painful for him.

Re: Do Gentlease/Sensitive/Good Start
After much trial and error I realized DS spits up more on my breastmilk from breast than anything I give him in bottle. I just don't get it.
But because I have been supplementing, I started to wonder if its the formula, switched to gentlease. It was fine. But I didn't like that corn syrup solids was top of ingredient list. I switched to Good Start Gentle, whey protein is top of ingredients and made me feel better. Baby doesn't seem to care. He spits up a little sometimes on formula, whatever the formula. As long as it less than 1 oz, my ped said don't worry.
When I did ask the ped, he basically rolled his eyes and said babies spit up, yes its reflux, its nothing like reflux in adults, they have protection from it and don't worry, burp, let them spit up, and move on. Spit up is a laundry problem.
I guess its a matter of how uncomfortable you think your baby is.
Mine is gasy, and always grunting and straining, I started giving chamomile tea, and its like a miracle
See my previous post.
