DNA Fragmentation results & IVF#3--HELP!!!!!!

Ladies,

Found out today that our DNA Frag. test showed that we are 30.7%DFI...

What were your DH's results?

According to other boards anything over 30% is considered "hopeless" which I dont believe since I already have my IVF/ICSI miracle baby...

But I was wondering if maybe in the past 2 years his % got worse?? Is there anything your DH took or did (vitamins, boxers) to change his %

Did you do PGD? Donor? or just try try try again with IVF...

No idea what that number means because we never had to deal with MF but regardless, DH was on certain supplements for improvement and overall better health. I know some ladies on here swear by supplements too. Dh took an everyday Mens multi, Pycnogenol and a Cellular Antioxident Defense supplement. Can you ask your RE for some rec's? I know there is a post on here for some Men's supplements if you do a search.

...30.7% of his DNA is fragmented. I have an appointment with the RE friday to discuss after she reviews with the enitre RE Team at the office board meeting.

In the meantime I was hoping to see if anyone out here has delt with this issue and what they did for it. I know it cant be "fixed" but i know that certain things can "help" ie. wearing boxers, taking vitamins, HcG, sperm aspiration, PICSI...doing research and exploring options so I can be prepared of Friday :)

thanks!!Ill look into those suppliments.

Re: DNA Fragmentation results & IVF#3--HELP!!!!!!

Sorry no experience in DNA fragmentation but I'm going to bump a post from Mrs. Devito for you about supplements that helped her DH.

We also had MF IF and supplements did help DHs numbers some.

ETA I realized Mrs. Devitos post was on the TTC board so I will copy and paste below.

A few people have asked for the list of things that helped DH's sperm so here it is.

Target (Up Up) Men's Daily Multi Vitamin
CoQ10 100mg
Acetyl-L-Carnitine 500mg
L-Carnitine 100mg
Vit D 1000iu
Omega 3, 6, 9 (2 pills a day as per directions on bottle)
Grape Seed Extract 50mg
Super Antioxidant (2 pills per day as per directionson bottle)
Ginseng 250mg
Red Wine Extract (1 pill per day as per directions on bottle)
Zinc 50mg
Baby Aspirin 81mg
Vitamin C 500mg
L-Arginine 500mg
B-12 1000mcg
Folic Acid 400mcg
Selenium 200mcg
Vitamin E 400iu
N-Acetyl-Cysteine 500mg
Maximum Greens (2 pills per day as per directions on bottle)

He also takes a probiotic everyday but that isn't for fertility just to keep the tummy and intestines working well.

While it worked for us I can't promise it will for everyone and I am by no means a doctor so please don't take anything without checking with your doctor first.

Not one week. I believe the supplements take 72 days or almost 3 months (not sure which is exact) to make a difference since that's how often sperm is produced. It couldn't hurt though. Good Luck!
