Disposable underwear
I just started doing some research on what to pack for the hospital, and one site said to buy disposable underwear. Has anyone done this? Do you recommend it?

Re: Disposable underwear
I used it (Depends brand) when I had my DD and they were awesome. I had a C-section and the stretchy band fit perfectly up and over my belly so nothing was rubbing on the scar. I put the hospital pad inside it. It was very comfortable.

Re: Disposable underwear
Most hospitals gives you a ton of the mesh disposable ones (I said most because some still have the belt one where you tie the ends of the pads to it reminds me of a jock strap for women).
If you like you can pick up a pack of Hanes Briefs aka granny panties if you prefer to wear your own over the mesh. I personally prefer the mesh especially if you end up with a csection.

Re: Disposable underwear
I used what the hospital gave me and even took a bunch home to use afterwards. And buy a bunch of big granny panties, too, that are bigger and you won't be upset if they get ruined.

Re: Disposable underwear
I've posted this here before but I'll add it again, my hospital didn't have these. I was expecting to use them instead of my underwear and wound up with nothing. Had to waddle to the bathroom holding a big blue plastic pad between my legs infront of MIL since she got there before DH returned with underwear. Bring some of your own just incase lol!

Winthrop gave them to me. I think of those and I think of the staples from my Csection

Re: Disposable underwear
Huntington hospital didn't offer me any sort of underwear. I was really glad I brought the disposable. I wonder if they have it you ask for it or they just don't have any...

Re: Disposable underwear
Southside didn't have mesh underwear either when I had my dd. But that was 2.5 years ago so they may now.

Re: Disposable underwear
I delivered at St. Catherine's twice, and they also did not have the mesh underwear. I just asked the nurse in Post Partum, and they have them now.

Re: Disposable underwear
When I delivered at St. Charles, they gave you one pair in delivery but once you got to Maternity, they didn't have them. I always brought my own cheap underwear that I threw away afterwards. This was a few years ago, so I'm not sure if it is still the case.

Disposable underwear
A few people recommended getting a package of depends for the hospital. I did that and it was great.
