DisneyWorld restaurants???

Were running out of new places to go. We try to go to all new restaurants every year. Has anyone gone to Tony's Town Square Restaurant in the MK. How is it??

I was there years ago -- it was ok. I thought it was better than the reviews it gets but it wasn't fantastic.

It is a popular place because there are few choices in the MK. We haven't tried it yet. But from friends who have eaten there and from reviews in Unofficial guide and disboards....

The food is not very good - I have seen it compared to anything from olive garden to chef boyardee. One thing people say is to get the non italian items (i.e. steak) and those tend to be the better items. I have one friend who goes every trip and says while it isn't great they do enjoy it and another friend who went once and had the worst meal and never went back. I think with all food at WDW it can be hit and miss - I think there are better choices but that if you want to eat at MK it is worth trying once.

I read a full review with photos not long ago on disboards - it showed pictures of the food and what different people ate - you might want to see if you can find that. Their menu is on allearsnet.com if you want to see what they offer.

Its ok...not bad not great.

If your looking for MK, we love The Plaza. Great sandwich type food and good icecream for dessert!

Tony's is meh. Like on par with or a step below Olive GArden. One of my least favorite meals. I've heard good things about The plaza, but I've never gone

Re: DisneyWorld restaurants???

I always feel like MK needs some better food. We usually just end up eating at Casey's Corner, Pinnochio Village Haus or Cosmic Ray's (none of them are great).

Love the Crystal Palace breakfast, but my kids rather go on rides than sit for that long.

I'm looking forward to when they open Be Our Guest in the new section. Hopefully that will be a good option.

We dont really bother with the Magic Kingdom restaurunts. Rather hop on the monorail for Ohana or 1900 Park Fare

Is that the one right next to that kodak theatre? BC when we were leaving MK one night and the spectromagic pardade was ending we saw people sitting outside at the beginning of main street (I think it was the plaza_ eating and we said that would be a great place to get reservations and watch all the parades.

Seemed great!

I agree Magic Kingdom food was...ehh

Love it. We actually just went for the first time 2 trips ago and now it is a must for us. It's not the place to go if you want a full dinner meal (ie, app, steak dinner) but the sanwiches are great, good kids menu and they are connected to the ice cream parlor so you can get sundaes for dessert.

See I like Cosmic Rays - because it is one of the few places you can get Rotisserie chicken which is a nice change from the burgers/pizza/etc. Haven't tried the other two - we usually go CR or Pico bills.

I totally agree I am hoping that they will open Be Our Guest before our next trip but I think we might be a few months too early. There are rumors over on disboards that CM told people that ADRs would be opening soon - but I have a feeling it will be for the 180 day out mark.

I totally agree, there is nothing really better than a burger inside the magic kingdom!

Re: DisneyWorld restaurants???

I'm dying to try the QS, tortuga tavern. Apparently they have tacos and stuff. I kept missing it on my last trip since it was only open certain hours and I don't plan meals, I just kind of eat when I feel like it, and if a line is short, I'd rather get on one more ride than rush to lunch. I'm going to make a point to get there next time

That was the old mexican CS place near PoTC right? Isn't it the same food just new name - if so the old one wasn't bad for CS but it was only open during more crowded times.
