Disney with an 11 mo old, formula and food question...
If you went to Disney when your LO was on formula and solids what did you do? We are flying down and DS will be exactly 11 mos. He'll still be on formula, and I'm sure I'll need to bring some baby food too, right? You think we might need a kitchenette? We are staying at the All Star Music and we could either get 2 adjoining rooms or a suite with a kitchenette, which approx $40 more per night than the 2 rooms. Also, how did you make the formula? We use powder, so I'll bring the canister, but what about the water? I don't want to have to buy bottles and bottles of water. Is there any way or any where I can get gallon jugs? And what does an 11 month old eat any ways? Oh, so many questions... Thank gd this is months away!

we didn't do disney yet, but when ever we were out we used the 8 oz RTF bottles. and just attached a nipple and DD drank from there.. NEVER carried around baby food at that age, both kids ate what we had.. you will find something for them

Re: Disney with an 11 mo old, formula and food question...
We brought DD when she was 7 months old. She was on formula and baby food. For the formula we portioned out her formula into small containers and brought bottles of water with us. We also kept her baby food and snacks in a small colapsable cooler. When it was time for a meal for her we went to the Baby Care Center. Each park has one. They are a godsend. They have high chairs, changing tables, microwaves and extra supplies should you accidentally run out. It was great and it gave her a break from the crowds. Some have a play room where they play movies. This gave DD a chance to crawl around. If you have any questions let me know.

Re: Disney with an 11 mo old, formula and food question...
We took DS when he was 9 months. We brought enough formula to get us down there and then went to the local Walmart to buy a weeks supply. We did powdered formula and bought a few cases of bottled water. We always brought the bottles to the park with us every day (SOO WORTH IT!) so it was easy enough to have one for his bottle. Also, I would set one bottle of water on top of the stroller all day so it would be warm enough to use when it was time to make his bottle.

Re: Disney with an 11 mo old, formula and food question...
I never went with formula but to answer some of your questions....
Whether you get a kitchenette or not I recommend that you consider ordering from Gardengrocer.com - it is like peapod. They will deliver right to your hotel and your hotel will keep it cold until you can take it from them. One thing if you get regular rooms at the all stars as of right now (have seen rumors it might change but not seen anything official) there are no fridges - you can pay I think $14 a day to get one. So the kitchenette might be helpful in that respect. This way you can order gallons of water or cases of water - that is what we did on our last trip - we ordered a case of water and brought the bottles to the parks to drink. You can also order things like yobaby yogurt, baby food etc. We usually eat breakfast in our room, counter service lunch and sit down dinner. It has been a while but I think gerber makes shelf stable yogurts which would be easy for you to throw in a bag and bring along with you. I also ordered puffs and things like cheerios - which we put into zip lock bags so that she could snack on the cheerios at any time.
On our last trip DD#2 celebrated her 1st birthday so she was a few months older. She ate - grilled cheese, pizza, chicken (cosmic rays in MK has rotissorie chicken we cut into tiny pieces for her and I think they had mashed potatoes) they have tons of fruit - so we cut up apples, bananas, melon, grapes for her. She also ate some pasta and lots of yogurt. Fruit was easy to find.
I think for a 9 month old you will at least be able to get fruit (we had no problems finding things like melon, apples, bananas etc. It will really depend on what your DC is eating at the time - in some ways it will be easier on you if they are still on jarred foods because it is so easy to bring along with you and throw into a bag. If that is the case then that would make your life pretty easy.
You will want to take advantage of the baby care centers - they have nice and very clean changing tables with doctors office paper that they are constantly scrubbing down, a feeding area, a little store - that sells - carnation formula, gerber foods and drinks, suntan lotion, medications, diaper supplies if you run out. It isn't cheap but it would do in a pinch if you run out or need something you forgot.
If you don't want to lug the water what about using RTF just for when you are in the parks and use the powder when you are in your room.

Re: Disney with an 11 mo old, formula and food question...
Oh btw - one thing that was very helpful since we had diapers, swimmies, wipes etc. We got a medium size box from uhaul and filled it with diapers, swimmies, wipes, take and toss cups and silverware, disposable placemates (which were very helpful because we could put cheerios down on them for her to occupy her at meals and she wasn't touching the actual table). Basically anything we thought we wouldn't be bringing back. We send it ground with Fed Ex (you can't do this with USPS because it goes to central processing center and often gets lost - you have to use UPS or FedEx). We sent it down on the friday before we left to give it a week to arrive. It got there on Wednesday night and we arrived saturday afternoon - they will hold packages for up to 7 days.
It cost us $18 to send it which is much cheaper than paying for an extra bag with the airline.
