Disney- where do you start?

Any suggestions for visiting Disney with school aged kids for 5 nights? I think i am willing to take them out pf school for a couple of days if it saves some money. I Don't even know how much to expect to spend/budget. Ideally a place with a kitchenette would be nice.

I'm not a Disney resort expert, so I can't really speak to their hotels, but if you're not hung up on staying on site, I suggest renting a timeshare off premises. It will give you a lot more space at a much more reasonable price. You will be able to chose from studio, one bedroom, two bedroom or even more if thats what you need.

Re: Disney- where do you start?

I agree with staying off site depending on your kids ages. We have gone 3x with kids. First 2 we stayed at Caribbean beach and boardwalk. This time we went to Sheraton vista a villages on international drive. We got a 2 bedroom 2 bath for the same as pop century (Disney value resort) would have cost. It was ideal with a 5 and 2 year old.

To start I would suggest looking at the crowd calendars online and choosing a time of year that works for you. Then you can play around with Disney.com or southwest vacations.com to see pricing. ( we booked this last hotel stay thru Costco and got a great price bug they only offer a few hotels)

Also check out Disney to see what the current offers are.

Re: Disney- where do you start?

Hi!

Choosing a time of year is a great place to start. Going when school is in session will usually mean better savings and lower crowds.

Are you planning to go some time this year? How long term are you planning?

There are some great options offsite, but I believe that there's nothing like the benefits and magic of staying onsite. Extra Magic Hours, Free airport transfers with Disney's Magical Express, just being immersed in the magic 24/7.

If it's your first visit it makes sense to work with a Disney specialist who can not only help you plan your hotel, ticket and dining package but who can help design a customized plan for each day of your vacation and help you get all of your dining reservations, providing support and tips all along the way!

Let me know if you have questions!
