Re: Disney tips

Go off peak.... Take a good double stroller or two singles that recline.. Eat breakfast in the hotel... Bring your own food for the kids... We never stay on property since we drive down. We have always lucked out with renting a house or town home near by... We took DS at 5 months ad 2 years old and are going back later this year when he is 3... We always left the parks mid day for a nap or to rest and went back in the evening.. I recommend noise reduction head sets for parades and fire works!!

Last trip the kids were turning 1 on the trip and 1 month from turning 3.

I say stay on site. Go back to your hotel midday. Swim/ nap/ relax. Go back evenings.

Ship a fedex ground box to your hotel with things like diapers, wipes, swimmies, take and toss silverware, cups, disposable placemats for counter service meals. Sponge and dishwashing liquid if you need to clean bottles or sippies. A medium uhaul box send slowest ground (shipped friday arrived wed night) about 25 lbs cost me $18. Cheaper than paying to fly an extra bag,

Order from gardengrocer.com you can get anything you need delivered from a company like peapod to you hotel bell services will keep it cold if you are not there when it comes.

Take advantage of extra mgic hour mornings. You get up earlier but most kids are up early anyway. If you stay onsite the parks open 1 hour early some mornings. Go you will get a lot more done then leave at lunch time for a break.

Remember under 3 are free. You don't buy a ticket for them. You don't pay for them at buffets or family style meals. You will pay if you order a kids meals at a counter service location or an a la carte place like tony in the MK, or coral reef etc. You won't pay if they eat off of your plate.

We used our city mini. Great recline, great rain sun cover, good storage.

Use the baby care centers. They have nursing areas, rooms with high chairs for quiet feedings, stores that sell diaper supplies, gerber food, carnation formula, medicines like tylenlol, pedialyte, sun screen. Expensive but good if you run out or forget an item. The MK and EPCOT ones are the best.

Decorate your stroller. The brighter more decorated it is the less likely to be stolen and easier to find when you park it and the cast members move it.

We went when DS was 2 3/4 and DS 2 was 6 months.

I found it necessary to be flexible (which is tough for me). I planned two character breakfasts since DS is the best in the am and two dinners at downtown Disney (we stayed offsite).

We spent the mornings at the parks and the afternoons at the pool and it worked great for us. Unfortunately we didn't see any parades but DS was having such a good time swimming and he didn't know what he was missing.

We spent a couple of mornings at Magic Kingdom, one morning at Hollywood Studios (we did the Disney Jr breakfast) and one morning at Animal Kingdom (we did character breakfast at Tusker House).
