Disney Resorts question
We are in the early stages of planning our first trip to Disney and I was wondering if all you seasoned Disney travelers can tell me of any resorts that have kitchens or kitchenettes in them?
The last time I was at Disney (almost 20 years ago) my family stayed at a resort called the Disney Institute and we had a great suite with full kitchen. It was fantastic. That resort has since closed, but I am looking to see if they offer that anywhere else.
Thanks.

Disney Resorts question
Disney Resorts that have kitchenettes are
Suites at Art of Animation Family Suites at All Star Music
Disney Vacation Club villas have kitchenettes in their studios, and full kitchens in the 1 bedroom and above.
Non Disney resorts, there are a ton of places that have kitchens. But you are not on site at Disney, and lose those perks.

Re: Disney Resorts question
The property that was the Disney Institute is now Saratoga Springs. It is a DVC property with kitchenettes (basically a sink, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster) in the studios and full kitchens in one bedrooms and above.
All DVC properties follow this pattern: kitchenettes in the studios and full kitchens in one bedrooms and larger.
In addition, the cabins at Fort Wilderness have full kitchens.

Re: Disney Resorts question
I just stayed in a 2 bedroom at Saratoga Springs in August. Full size fridge, stove, toaster, microwave, & dishwasher.

Re: Disney Resorts question
Just chiming in on Saratoga. We have stayed there twice, last time this past February. Horrible bus service. Downright awful . We waited routinely almost 30 minutes for MK buses. I said we wouldn't stay there again due to that issue. If you go that route, request a building that is one of the first on the route. By the time the bus got to the last stop, no one could get on, and they had to wait again for another bus. We got on at the Paddock, so I would request that section or the Carousel.

Disney Resorts question
the ones on disney property that have kitchens are, i'm pretty sure, all Disney Vacation Club properties (time share) BUT you can rent points from DVC owners to stay there-- Davids DVC rental is one company. I also know people that have rented points off of eBay with good experiences... just read reviews about the seller first. BUT the Cabins at Disney Fort Wilderness Campground have kitchens in them. Im pretty sure they sleep 6 people- a queen bed and bunk beds, plus a pull out couch bed.... The campground is really a nice place to stay! it has a nice pool, they do the campfire sing a long every night with Chip and Dale, you can do pony rides, rent bikes, etc. AND its a short boat ride to magic kingdom! there are also a ton of off- Disney rental houses and stuff that have kitchens. BUT you would need to rent a car, and you can only make fast passes at 30 days before your trip, instead of 60.
