Disney Memory Maker
Have any of you purchased this? It's a little cheaper if you do it in advance, and I'm curious to see if it's worth the $169.
Its our first time bringing our 4 year old...
Thanks!

Disney Memory Maker
I don't do it because I bring my own camera, and often hand the camera to the cast members and they take our picture. My pictures usually come out the same or even better than theirs. Some people like to have hundreds of pictures, ride pictures, the special pics you wait in line for (lantern pic at MK, etc.) and like the borders that you can put on the pictures.

Re: Disney Memory Maker
We just came back from Disney. We purchased the memory maker and I think it was worth it. We have over 200 pictures and the quality is fantastic. They also do extra magic so we have some cute pictures in front of the castle with m Girls holding tinkerbell. I have a great camera but I did not want to bring it and carry it around and than leave it while we went on rides. It's also so nice not to have to worry about taking pictures for everything. We still took cell phones pictures for a out of things but I like the quality of the memory maker photos.

I think its worth it. Esp since it includes the pics from the rides.

It was completely worth it for us - between ride photos and Jedi Training...it was priceless. The last thing I wanted to do was carry a camera around. Have a blast!

I thought it was worth it. We did a lot of character photos and stopped at the front of the parks and a few other places we saw park photographers. FYI - If you want extra magic shots, you should ask. Sometimes the photographers just do it and sometimes they only do it if asked.

I'm so glad you posted this. I was debating too. I really didn't want to lug my good camera everywhere. I"m going to get it now.

Re: Disney Memory Maker
or they do 7-$77 for downloads. I just got back.
I did that because majority of pics I took on my cell,. they allow that.

Re: Disney Memory Maker
I did it when DH and I went with DS a couple of years ago. I am glad we did. I wanted to be sure we would get good photos at iconic spots and key moments, and I didn't want the pressure of having to worry about taking photos, or figuring out how to get photos with all of us in it. I just wanted to be able to enjoy the experience.
I'm glad we did it - the pictures came out nice, and I loved the ride photos. In the grade scheme of the Disney expenses, it was a drop in the bucket and money well spent, imo.
But again, I don't particularly enjoy taking photos, and I'm not that great at it!

Disney Memory Maker
i did it, it was worth it. I went with my wife and 2 kids and my parents. It was great getting pics with all of us in it, the ride photos and the magic shots. I'm a camera guy, I took a camera with me too (2 actually). I had my DSLR some days and I had a pocket-able camera others. I like having both options. I took my cameras for the candid shots, some scenery shots, and some animal shots. I got some awesome shots from the animal kingdom nighttime show and the safari
FWIW, we also looked at it as, this is already a very expensive trip, the added cost of having memory maker was very small in comparison and guaranteed that we'd have nice group pictures and some ride photos. I think it certainly exceeded our expectations for that.

Re: Disney Memory Maker
It's just DH and I. We never used to get it. Then they started including it with the annual passes. We absolutely love it!!! I have never paid for it, so I have no idea if it's "worth the price" but I will say that we use it all the time. So much fun.

We are going in November and got it. I heard it's worth it. Plus I don't have to worry about taking all the pics and bugging someone else to take a family pic

Re: Disney Memory Maker
I think it depends how long you are going for. We went for 8 days and I'm so happy we had the MM. We had tons of pictures. I have a good camera but did not want to lug it around the park and leave it unattended when going on rides. I loved having the special effects on the pics and all of the ride pictures/videos. So to me, it was totally worth it.
