We are planning on going to Disney in May of 2014. My parents only want to stay at a Monorail Hotel.

Our plan was to stay at the Polynesian but I am hearing things about construction so not sure

where would you stay

My first choice for a monorail hotel would definitely be Polynesian. Depending on the extent of the construction I'd go to Contemporary next and Grand Floridian last. That's just a personal preference for the theming and atmosphere of the resorts. I think you really can't go wrong with any monorail resort.

I ran into a lot of guests staying at the Poly this week who were not happy with the construction. Several of them were given very very nice upgrades because of how unhappy they were.

Personally, I would stay at the Grand Floridian or Contemporary right now because of the construction but that is my personal opinion. The Polynesian is large enough that it may not have any impact on your trip at all.

We just switched from Beach Club to Poly and THEN i read about construction (fml!!). Rapa Nui and Tahiti are next to be worked on but i dont think that will greatly affect anything. What really concerns me is all the work to the GCH and pool. If they were closed that would be a deal breaker for me. Im going to keep my reservation there until the new year and see how constructions coming along. If it doesnt look good we will switch to Contemporary.
