Disney cruise question
We are looking to go away on a Disney cruise in Nov when the kids are off a week at school. We saw a great one leaving NY and ending at PR. Only issue is it's pretty booked up and only thing they can guarantee is an inside state room, but won't know where till 60 days before. We are also going with another family. They can't promise we'd be next to each other, but if we book together we can be guaranteed dinners together and they said they'd "do their best" to keep us close to each other rather than be on two separate sides of the ship.
Thoughts? Worth it or should we just look for something else that week?
Thanks!

Re: Disney cruise question
Never been on a Disney cruise but have done a cruise with an inside state room and it was the worst It was like being in a closet. Pitch black. You'd wake up at 8 am thinking it was 2 am. You'd have to turn a light on to even see what time it was or your hand in front of your face.
I'd only do a cabin with some kind of window from now on

Disney cruise question
I've never been on this specific cruise, but can you book online? Most cruise lines let you choose your cabins (like you would an airline seat). We just got back from a cruise and I had booked two cabins online next to each other and it worked out perfectly.
As far as inside cabin, I don't mind it. We were only in the room to sleep so it was no big deal.

Same. Also, we've always had rooms very close together, usually right next door, though not connected. It made it much easier for meeting up and that was all adults. I'd probably keep looking.

Re: Disney cruise question
I'd keep looking as we have had 4 people in an inside room and I would never do it again. There is not enough room and don't believe people that you are only in there to sleep. Especially with kids, you spend other time in the room in between doing things and was quite uncomfortable.

Cruise lines offer "Guaranteed" staterooms, for a cheaper rate than if you pick your own. so like basically you can pick a "Guaranteed" inside, oceanview or balcony stateroom.... SOO the cruise line will guarantee you a stateroom in whatevery category you pick- you just don't know where on the ship it is, until right before you leave. its cheaper because you're taking that gamble. we've done it twice- it can be good and bad. Both times we got really lucky!! on NCL Breakaway, we booked guarateneed balcony and got a great room! on a disney cruise we also booked guaranteed balcony- and ended up with a HUGE balcony right on the back of the ship! AMAZING!!! for the Disney cruise, because we had booked "guaranteed"- we got the aft balcony room for like $2200 for 3 of us, for a 4 night cruise.... same kinda deal on the NCL one...

Re: Disney cruise question
As far as it being an inside room, Disney has the magic porthole windows, and you can see outside, so that shouldn't be an issue. The outside rooms have black out curtains, so it's dark in your room even it's daylight out and you have the curtains drawn.
I would make sure it's a deluxe inside stateroom with the split bath, and not the regular inside with the single bath. We had two rooms on our cruise last Summer. One outside, and across the hall we had one inside. That inside was tiny, and had a regular bath, not the split bath. I can't imagine having 4 people in there. Only 1 person stayed in there, 2 would be the max IMO.
As far as not being near your friends, no big deal. You can meet up with them on Deck 3 (main lobby area), and go from there. Staterooms are so small to begin with, I don't think anyone is hanging out in their rooms with their friends to be honest.

I don't think it would be an issue not being near your friends. Inconvenient maybe but not terrible.
As far as inside stateroom we have done it before and if price is good wouldn't not go because of it.

Re: Disney cruise question
I like our own personal space so I wouldn't mind not being right next to our friends. You could have seatings together for all meals, get off the boat together, meet at the pool, etc.
The Disney cruise has this free messenger app. You can message one another on the boat.
We tend to get ready and move faster than all our friends. Even if our rooms are close together, our family is always out first.

I would agree with this.
While I would prefer to be close to friends, I loved the Disney Cruise enough to book without being next to each other. We went with family (large group) and sometimes I could have used some space...lol
Plus, we had dinner together but we did our own thing here and there. Each of us ate when our families were ready and tried to sit near each other when we could, and it was fine.
I would be more concerned with an indoor cabin. I used to do it, but as I get older, I get more claustrophobic. I like a real window, but if you are good with inside, I would book!
