Re: Disney crowd calendar

It seems like more people are leaning towards easywdw. I found it seems people recently have been saying it has been more accurate. I like touringplans but I like that easywdw doesn't pick a best park bc it hasn't been picked that week. From friends who used it agree his has been better.

For my upcoming trip I have looked at both, then at the days we were there and why they recommended the park that day. So I did a combo, but they weren't that different.

I do know that easywdw has said touring plans has over estimated crowds a few times - but I'm the reverse has happened as well.

Etd to add sorry I was compairing touringplans.com (unofficial guide site) with easywdw.com. No idea that under cover tourist did anything but sell tickets.

Touringplans has a DL section I haven't trip planned for DL but they might have crowd calendars there. But I think it is a separate membership from the WDW section.

Yes. Separate site and separate membership.

One beef people take up with the TP calculators is that they call them inaccurate based on how the park feels, which some other calendars take into account. TP is all about how long the lines will be. One great example - I was at Disneyland on Valentine's Day. The crowd calendar said it would be a 7, and it was definitely more crowded than earlier in the week. At first i thought "this is bull!" because it "felt" like a 10. Just wall to wall people. But since most people were there for dinner or for a Valentine's Day photo op, the lines for rides weren't as bad as what the crowd actually felt like

ITA! This is very true! I remember arriving on a 5 day and walking at lunch (on arrival day so we only got to the MK at lunch time) and it is a wall of people but rides were lower than it felt. Easywdw just did a report about feeling vs actual numbers interesting pictures. I am a bit nervois though of the new
fastpass+ I have been seeing people recently complaining that waittimes were being very underestimated. 40 min waits quoted were really 120 or 90.

Last time I was at WDW FP+ was still in a very early testing phase but I have to say in all of my trips I've very rarely seen an underestimated wait time unless the ride broke down or a tour group jumped into the line ahead of me. One thing to understand about the wait times is that they are actually measured rather than estimated based on those red cards BUT when something says it has a 30 minute wait, it means that there was a 30 minute wait 30 minutes ago. You have to consider what could have happenned in the last 30 minutes to alter that

See I would say every trip we have taken I totally agree about red cards (have done it for soarin 2x). Ialways thought they were very good. People have been saying over on disboards and some I know returned recently with same complaint. Lots of fastpass going through more than usual, ride times post very off from the real deal, not by a little but doulbe or more in some cases on multiple occasions. Not sure IF part of it is teating or what (heard they were testing bracelets but not sure IF that was true. ) people commented on like 30 fp then 3-5 standby...CM said they were doing more FP testing the system. But I think the new system will effect lines, not be good for those who do not have a smart phone, etc. Unfortunately there is no way to know if it will be good or bad until they roll it out. I am not sure my vacation the kids waited 3 years for is a time I'm thrilled about maybe being a guinea pig. It will alter my touring. Also hard to pick things like splash in advance. My DD will turn 4 3 days after we return. She is about 40 inches now +/- depending on when and in what she is measured. The girls are dying to do splash. I would consider picking fp+ for it...but what if we get there and she can't ride...then she is screwed for that and any other 40 inch ride for the trip. She should make it... but that is one thing hard to plan 60 days out ( or whenever).
